What we did
Between Jakarta and Singapore, we enjoyed a peaceful sea day, highlighted by yet another outstanding brunch on the pool deck. Viking truly outdid themselves, and we loved sharing the feast with friends as the ocean slipped by. Our next two overnights were in Singapore, and although we had packed our itinerary with plans, both of us were feeling a bit under the weather and decided to use the time to rest. Still, on our first evening we rallied enough to venture out and see Spectra, a dazzling light and water show set beside an upscale mall. The following morning, we took the cable car up to Mount Faber, gliding right over our ship which was a fun perspective and only about a five‑minute walk from the pier. The show and the cable car were both conveniently close, which made it easy to enjoy a little bit of Singapore even while taking it slow. There's also a large mall in the cruise terminal which Amy walked around quite a bit in, although she didn't purchase anything although prices were quite reasonable.

We had hoped to see much more, but unfortunately didn’t feel well enough to push ourselves. The next day included an 8.5‑hour excursion in Kuala Lumpur, and although it sounded fantastic, we just couldn’t trust that we’d be up for it. Instead, we took a short walk around the port before heading back to rest. In the afternoon, we got a surprise call letting us know that spots had opened up for a bridge tour; an unexpected treat we were happy to take advantage of. Thankfully, we’re on the mend now, and since we’ve heard that “something” is making its way around the ship, we decided to give ourselves a little grace and focus on feeling better. Sometimes the best travel days are the ones where you simply pause, breathe, and take care of yourself.
