We checked out of our wonderful hotel and walked 10 minutes to the pier to board our home for the next 7 days, the Viking longship Villiam! Our room was ready when we arrive e so a quick dropped off for luggage and it was time to explore followed by a light lunch.

The afternoon we took a walking tour of the nearby area with a guide that provided historical narrative that we didn't have on our own. We stopped at the nearby show memorial. The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a memorial in Budapest, Hungary, that commemorates the Hungarian Arrow Cross militiamen's massacre of Jewish people during World War II. Victims were ordered to remove their shoes before being shot at the edge of the Danube River and thrown into the water. The memorial consists of 60 pairs of iron shoes, placed on the bank of the Danube, representing the shoes left behind by those who were killed.

Dinner followed and we have started meeting other guests and sharing stories. Always a fun part of a cruise. After the sun set the city was lit up and the viewed were spestacular

Our next day consisted of a 4 hour tour of Buda and Pest. Orr tour guide Oliver was wonderful and very informative. The view from the Buda side of the river were amazing. After returning to the ship and a relaxing afternoon, with bud farewell to Budapest and sailed the Danube treated to another beautiful night light show!
