What we did
Our day at sea that was interrupted by a medical emergency. The passenger was evacuated by a helicopter. He's the husband of a woman who played mahjong with us. For any cruises, especially where there are many sea days, we highly recommend getting travel insurance.

The next day we arrived in Mooloolaba (pronounced Mah-LOO-loo-bah) where we visited the Zoo of Australia which was founded by Steve Irwin and his family. To get ashore, we had to take a tender boat. We then had to take a bus to and from the zoo which took about 40 minutes each way. It is a beautiful zoo. There weren't a large number of animals at any exhibit which meant the animals were not overcrowded. There were long walk ways between the areas and so the visitors were spread out. We were able to see and hand feed kangaroos, pet a koala, and feed a giraffe!. We were able to see many other animals. It was quite hot however and we were very happy to be welcomed back on board with a cool cloth to wipe our hands and face with. They provide this at each port we visit. It was a great day.
