Lynn from Linz Start of the day with a delightful walking tour with Lynn from Lintz. She was the best guide out of all our Viking tours.

We learned it was the birthplace of Johannes Kepler, we saw the balcony where In March 1938, following the Anschluss (annexation of Austria), Hitler returned to Linz. From the balcony of the Rathaus (City Hall), he proclaimed the creation of the Greater German Reich

After the walking tour we tried the Linzer torte at the Glockenspiel Cafe in the town square to hear the bells at 11am.

Next, we took the Postlingbergbahn which has one of the worlds steepest inclines at 11.6%. It’s an adhesion rail, not a cog rail. We enjoyed spectacular views from the top before heading back to the boat that was docked a few minutes walk from the town square.
